I have been a customer of this group for the past 23 years and I have not had such a bad meal in these 23 years! I love their food, so my complaint is not about the group, but the service and the quality of this particular branch. I called to make a complaint about the meal, especially the Kung Po Prawns and Chicken in Black Bean Sauce. I was told the manager would call me back as they were busy. During this time, I did not eat meal. 20 minutes later, I called back as I hadnt heard back and was told that the manager is still busy and she will call back. I received a call back about 5 minutes later from May, who said she was the manager. She did not apologise, but explained that all the sauces are made centrally and that this was their practice for the take away branches. I explained that i had ordered many times but this time, it was substandard. May insisted that this was the way the food was cooked, but perhaps the chef added too much sauce, causing the dish to taste sweeter and making it flavourless. There was still no apology. However, May stated next that each order was made freshly as it was received. I had to challenge this, because I live 5km, a 10-minute drive away from their location. I placed the order at 20:41, when I was told that the order would arrive in 45 mins to 1 hour. My order was delivered at 21:00!! I cannot accept that the meal was made fresh to order, as it is impossible (according to May) for them to cook my order in less than 10 minutes!! So, if I placed the order and it was delivered in less than 20 minutes that means that the order was pre-made. That is what explains the lack of quality! For a dish that costs 14.60, it is not acceptable. In retrospect, I should have ordered Dominos pizza, because there is no lying about the food and there is consistency!
