We worked with LLI on a comprehensive rebuild/ of a large property in North London. The brief was a top to bottom design, with the exception of the kitchen area where the architect led a contemporary, Japanese style design based around wood and fair-faced concrete. LLI's brief was thus to integrate that design to achieve some continuity with a more modern classic design for the rest of the house, including the design of a range of bespoke fittings. LLI also worked on lighting and small power design for the house, and made various structural suggestions regarding the interior layout which have been very additive to the way we use the space. Linda, David and team worked with us at the peak of the pandemic, where they worked assiduously to maintain a highly professional level of service despite an unprecedented range of logistical and supply challenges that confronted them, ourselves and the contractors who were carrying out the job. Linda has an excellent eye for texture and form, and through various iterations produced a sympathetic and elegant design that flows nicely through the house and makes it a comfortable and rewarding space to live in. We were really impressed by the quality of their pitch and the recommendations they were coming with. How wrong were we The contract stipulates Time is not of the essence . They mean it. They combine this with a policy of invoicing first and doing the work later. One can imagine the consequences We gave up after 8-9 months. Its been more than 18 months and we are still looking to recover some money but all we got so far is a proposal for a discount on an invoice we have never received (true story!) related to work not done
