I got to the high commission very late. To my surprise they received me well treated me nicely and professionally, they did not make any fuss though I was late and well outside my allocated time. I am very very grateful and they deserve praise. Thank you Ghana High Commision London. You have exceeded all my expectations.

Farcical beyond belief. Mr Bean would be proud of their process and systems. Take a strong dose of patience before starting this Herculean task. Cleaning the Augean stables surely would have been easier than maintaining your sanity through-out their visa process. Their visa process requires a half baked hard-copy version and half baked digital version. Why not just have a clear and simple hard-copy version if you can't afford the digital infrastructure? Through out their very laborious process, they ask for odd questions like the GPS co-ordinates of your workplace, even though you have already provided the workplace address in a previous answer. The process also asks duplicate questions with spelling mistakes. Presumably, a spell checker was too much effort. One of my favourite questions was 'provide your signature on a piece of paper - ensure it is 250px by 50px'. This is despite signing multiple times through-out the hard-copy process. The website, at best, is clumsy. The website designers seem overly proud of their work (not sure why) given that the company name is on the website footers on every page. These days, it's a cliche to say 'digital transformation' but believe me, the Ghana High Commission could do with a dose of it. Their phone systems are non existent although I did appreciate Golda's input from the 'chat here' functionality from time to time. I felt that we struck up a friendship given the amount of questions I posed her. She was always incredibly confident that everything would be just fine despite mountains of evidence suggesting the opposite. In the end, I got the documents that I needed in time (so, thank you for that) but it's a dreadful process that must surely put some prospective tourists off from the hassle. Getting a tourist visa should never be this difficult. Formalise a simple, standard, hard copy version that folks can use in the interim period until you have the ability to create a (much) more refined digital version. Please.

I never write Google reviews, but nothing goes smoothly when dealing with Ghanaians it seems. The move from in-person to solely online visa applications has been a terrible idea. The online application form is awful. The user interface is poor, buttons dont work, I spent a whole day trying to upload files to support my application. Instructions on how to post are unclear. There is too much repetition involved in the process. Either you make people send a hard copy or you request a digital copy - why make us do both? And dont bother with the phone lines - they will send you round in circles then transfer you to a dead line where you wont hear anything but silence. Seriously it was better when it was in person. Looking back Id rather spend hours in Highgate waiting for my ticket to be called without all this kerfuffle and know that the application is done and dusted, than have to spend days working on a visa because the website is absolutely useless and there is no IT support available. I wonder how older people with limited computer knowledge can manage this by themselves. Either reopen your embassy for people to do walk-in applications as well as online, or if you are truly unwilling then FIX your website and make the online process easier to navigate and more streamlined. Right now its a joke
