Agent confirmed my viewing mid afternoon, then did not show up at the agreed time. Finding the flat was complex (it is in a gated development) and I had no instructions of where to go; I walked around and then found my way into the building and to the flat but noone was around. I wasn't given a number to contact, and the office line diverted to an out of hours agent - who said she would send out an urgent message, but I heard no more about it. After half an hour I had to give up and leave. This was particularly frustrating given that my partner and I had both left work early and travelled across London to be there. The agent knew I was interested in offering above asking price, which makes this even more bizzare behaviour.

I have had to wait over a month to write this review because of stress-related illnesses but I was determined to put pen to paper on this one because, overall, I was touched by the service Kingsly offered. It was not a particularly standout start. We only went with this agent because the property we wanted to buy and feared we might not secure because of competition was already one of Kingsly's. I had never heard of them. Furthermore, I did not [and still don't] understand the name. It's confusing as there seem to be other similar sounding agencies albeit with different spellings. Senior Negotiator Mike Cotter had shown us the place we opted for and facilitated a second viewing, enabling us to make our first offer, which was promptly rejected. The second offer was accepted and I was surprised as it was not the asking price. This meant that we had to leap into action and put our flat on the market asap. Mike came to value and brought along his colleague, Ali who told me that not only had the owners of the cottage we wanted taken their property off the market for us but also Kingsly would ensure that a buyer for our property be found. The valuation he gave was flattering in the extreme and we were flabbergasted. I had heard such optimism before having had a Saturday job with an estate agency plus having bought and sold myself five times previously and also rented out properties, dealing with eleven different estate agents overall. The photographer was booked and the results were quite pleasing. I say only "quite" which is faint praise I know but then I am quite critical and my assessment is in fact more damning of my choice of cushions than the talent of the personable and professional young lady who nobly overlooked our dubious taste and overcrowded bedrooms and created a gallery better than we perhaps deserved. The flat was a complicated layout and embraced a rental unit with a messy history but Kingsly was undeterred. When we had no viewings for several weeks, Mike telephoned and admitted they had over-valued so we agreed a reduction. At that point it looked like it could be plain sailing as the first person to see the place, having had her first offer rejected by yours truly, then offered the asking price. I wanted to take our flat off the market as I liked and trusted our buyer but Kingsly persuaded us to continue to show and they were right to do so. Our sweet lady lost her buyer and the saga began to unfold and rage .... for nearly one year. The stress attacked my body big time - alopecia, the return of asthma and migraine, allergies, arthritis, you name it . During this fraught endgame was when, in my book, Kingsly earned their gongs, rising head and shoulders above their peers to the challenge of us and our properties. With more ingenuity and craft, more willingness and graft than I would ever want to credit any estate agency with, they showed their worth [and that was another thing; they offered such a reasonable rate of commission that I did not want or even think to barter.] So, if driving contracts from solicitors to elderly purchasers does not impress you, howzabout handing me a card and present on my birthday just because I allowed a viewing on that day. The consistently personable, affable, delightful Mike Cotter [and you are wrong.... I am happily married] was there at the door of our dream house to welcome me with the keys and the owner. It was pouring with rain. We had only 3 days between exchange and completion to organise our move. Little wonder I fell up the front path and could not get up. True to form, Mike got me back on my feetBravo Kingsly Group and thank you. Thank you very much indeed.
