Visited for dinner. Our special, last-night-in-London dinner did not disappoint. Fresh oysters and the Bream Ceviche were the prize winners, but all of the small dishes we tried were delicious. With the exception of the BBQ mackerel with black spice. The black spice turned out to be every black spice they have in the kitchen, liberally sprinkled onto the fish. Created a bitter taste. But back to the oysters and ceviche. The oysters were fantastically fresh from Maldon and Jersey, and there is something about peruvian ceviche, bright and fresh, that really makes it fantastic. San Francisco has a Peruvian seafood restaurant that also makes a really delicious ceviche. Perhaps the next food craze?

I became ill after consuming oysters that were in a bad state. We had to seek medical attention and have confirmation that our illness was caused by the food at this restaurant. We attempted to contact the restaurant via email, but received no response until we called the restaurant. The manager's response was extremely unprofessional and threatening, stating they would call the police if we returned to the restaurant as we could cause a scene. Furthermore, the operation manager's response to our complaint was dismissive, stating that they could not accept responsibility for any sickness caused by eating raw oysters, despite the fact that the risk of consuming bad oysters can be deadly. After numerous emails, they finally offered a refund of 96 when we paid a total of 275 for the meal, which is not an acceptable solution for the level of harm caused to us. We have no choice but to get environmental health involved to investigate this incident further. I strongly advise against dining at Prawn on the Lawn, as they clearly do not prioritize the health and safety of their customers, and their customer service and management of complaints is unacceptable.
