This is a very traditional Italian deli that has been in the area for many years. The shop is filled with lots of delicious food, mostly imported from Italy. There is also a good wine selection. The cheese is some of the best you'll find in London. The fresh, thick sausages are delicious. There are many types of pasta (no surprise) and of the fresh variety too. The staff are very helpful. They even stock Italian chocolate Easter eggs!

Be careful as in this store they might cheat you! Bought mortadella but in price tag was completely different salami with double price tag! And the cheese was expired- full or mould when I opened it at home. I was served by Carlo!

Very sorry to read the previous review. A review should offer a personal experience of a business, not a soap box to attack the owner because he has a differing opinion to the writer. Da Mario is one of the best stocked delis in North London. It's been part of Highbury Barn for many years, it's a busy shop with an extensive variety of fabulous Italian produce. The staff are knowledgeable and the owners are always in the shop chatting to customers, they are very much part of the local community and have been for many years. The owner of Da Mario is allowed to have an opinion. It isn't political, its his honest opinion on something that seriously affects his business.
