The guys at Independent Living in Downley are fantastic! They helped us out when, whilst on holiday in the area, my disabled mother forgot the key to her mobility scooter. Obviously this would have ruined her holiday but they went out of their way to locate a spare key and we were able to continue our trip. They were wonderful and made every effort to ensure we would find a solution no matter what. Thank you its great to know that there are kind people out there willing to go above and beyond to help others!

This is a must visit business. The Best! Some months ago, I travelled 39 miles to visit Richard & his team. My wife looked at mobility scooter suppliers in our hometown but did not like them or their attitude. She found Independent Living Consultants whilst babysitting grandchildren & was highly impressed. She explained I suffer from mutism & they assured her it would not be an issue. In regard of this alone, I feel duty bound to say that is the first and only place Ive been to as mute, where they took it as normal, & never once tried to talk round me instead of to me, patiently waiting in silence ever time they saw me typing. Perfect! So, the buying process was slow, but Tony gave all the time needed, test driving various types of scooters, trying them in the back of my car to see if they fitted. As if time was on no concern. Indeed, that is true. Richard and his team care for people and their needs and the business takes care of itself. In the end I bought two second hand scooters to facilitate my varying needs fully. Im delighted with both and could not have made the emotional and psychologically difficult step without the empathetic care of Richard & Tony. Some months on, I felt the noise from one scooter had changed, emailed ILC a sound file & Richard replied promptly, thinking it was of no concern, but best to check. He offered to come to me under warranty, but I was happy to drive to Richard. Again, they took all the time needed & demonstrated other scooters of the same brand, & indeed they all sounded the same. The scooter Id bought had only been used once, so it was just bedding in, & Id detected the change in sound. I wanted to buy a backpack to carry more shopping. Richard darted off, returning with a second hand one & would not allow me to pay for it as Id driven to them. Ive noticed one review on the site which complains and can only say the reviewer is either impossible to please or has got the wrong business. I will not be going anywhere else for any future needs.
