The most recent Ofsted report from July 2022 rated "Leadership and management" and "Personal development" as "Inadequate." Red Kites is the worst Nursery I've ever dealt with. Red Kites rejected my Son without explanation, and when we questioned this irrational decision, we were informed that they did not wish to argue (more of a cop out). During his second session of settling in, my son wasn't even permitted to play. Red Kites website states "We hope that we develop an open and honest dialogue between your family and the nursery, that will allow you to air your concerns and have them adequately explained or addressed as soon as possible." When my wife and I asked the reason to why they were saying this isnt going to work and Im not able to offer your son a place'. Clearly demonstrates that you do not have 'open and honest dialogue between your family and the nursery, that will allow you to air your concerns and have them adequately explained or addressed'. The manager was unprofessional and condescending towards us as parents; for instance, we waited over 20 minutes on the phone to arrange a session, however door duty was more important, and they told us abruptly, "We don't do pull-ups here." They told us that we were insignificant and that only the child mattered. However, their claim is undermined by the fact that my son was denied for no apparent reason. Red Kites website states "We believe that parents enter into an equal partnership in the care and education of their children whilst in our care and are therefore happy to support you wherever possible." As stated above "They told us that we didn't matter and that the child was the only thing that mattered" clearly demonstrates that they do not 'believe that parents enter into an equal partnership' and the lack of understanding and empathy towards us clearly demonstrates you are not 'happy to support.. wherever possible'. Red Kites were, in my opinion, sexist to me as a Father and made me feel like a second-class citizen because I was less of a parent; my wife was unable to come or be involved in the initial contact due to work commitments, so Red Kites continued to insist that they must meet the mother and that my wife "wasn't buying into the nursery experience." Despite my explanation of the circumstances to them. As evidence, the most recent Ofsted report from July 2022 rated "Leadership and management" and "Personal development" as "Inadequate."

We have been using The House that Jack Built day nurseries for over a year now and throughout we have been impressed with the nursery and the team that work their and look after our children. We count ourselves as being very lucky that both our children have been able to attend the nursery and it provided very good preparation for our oldest starting school. The nursery provides a very positive environment and the staff are very good at developing and nurturing the children in equal measure. Both of our children have been very happy there. When choosing a nursery were keen to find one that offered a large outdoor play space, meals cooked from scratch on site and an environment that our children would enjoy. The House that Jack Built day nurseries (and in particular from our experience Red Kites, Walters Ash) offer all the above and more. We would thoroughly recommend them.
