My wife likes to buy things from charities shops. Just something old and special. Since 2023 we noticed a drastic change in management style. It used to be value for money and now it is maximum revenue and lots of brand new things than donated items. It is not serving the local community anymore in my eyes. I feel better raising my subscription to charity than buying brand news poor quality things from here. 2 stars for its technically a charity shop.

Appalling service. Booked a collection from my home 3 weeks in advance. even checked the week before to make sure everything was okay for my collection. I was told I was still booked in for Saturday! My time slot was between 08:00 and 14:00 No one showed up! Called them just before 3pm to see if everything was still on course and was given numerous scenarios about why they have not been around yet. Asked them to call back and let me know what the situation was but did not receive any calls. I had already said to them I was moving and they still didnt turn up! They have now missed out on a few good items that could have gone to a good home as well as raising to money. Very disappointed with the way things are run there.

Had a collection set up for today. Called the store last week to ask if it was possible to add some additional items onto the collection and was told, absolutely, and that the driver would pick up anything that I wanted to donate. When the driver arrived he said he wouldn't take anything that wasn't on his list. I was understanding about this and was willing to set up another collection. He then said he didn't want to take one of the items that was on the list, so I asked him to help me take it to my car so I could take it to the dump. I am disabled and not able to do this myself. He kept interrupting me and was very rude when a simple "no" would have done and accused me of threatening him so I asked him to leave and didn't end up giving BHF anything. I wouldn't bother donating anything to this store and would recommend going elsewhere to make donations.
