Absolutely no stars. Just been asked to rate PT Sports Cars. Took my car there and gave them a budget. Bill was 60% higher than my budget, work was done that wasn't asked for, and I still had to take the car elsewhere to have their shoddy work put right. Don't be fooled by the slick presentation.

Ian at PT sourced, bought and set up a caterham for me and I cannot fault the service in any way. He was friendly, helpful and managed the whole process faultlessly from beginning to end. My only complaint is that PT is not near enough to my house so Im moving to Cookham to remedy this! Cannot recommend highly enough and if youre in the market for anything Caterham or race car related then PT should be your first port of call.

This review is from my experience from a few years ago, so apologies, but I wanted to share my view. I had my car (C16 RHE) serviced in 2017 & 2018 with Ian Payne / PT Sports. In the first service, although the car was bought from a reputable dealer and I had an independent inspection, I was produced with a long list of recommended parts that needed changing...my first Seven, so wanted to get as much done as possible. No photos or videos were sent to prove what needed doing, I trusted Ian. I collected the car and upon driving there was a knocking sound coming from the passenger side. Ian asked me to come back the next day and his team spent several hours taking my car apart, putting it back together, us going on several drives, repeat, repeat...the noise was improved but was still there on occasions. They couldn't diagnose the fault they had caused. Next year's service...I stupidly decided to use PT again. Again, a long list of things that were recommended to be changed (very funnily I had just replaced one of the wearables and this came up on the list!). I pushed back and got what I wanted done. Ian made out he was doing me a massive favour to collect the car on a Sunday....whilst I was still there other customers turned up to meet with Ian?! I drove away, upon first hard acceleration the handbrake light came on which indicates low brake fluid. I contacted Ian (albeit by WhatsApp as it was a Sunday) and his first response was 'its probably just something wrong with the switch'.....!!! I took the car straight to another dealership and the brake fluid was indeed found to be low. I didn't get any follow up from Ian. I subsequently took the car to Boss Racing (whom I highly recommend!!) and had them look over all the items suggested by PT....with me next to the car and on jack's they showed all were in good condition and didn't need replacing for quite some time!! I feel PT Sports is perhaps just a wallet so Ian can go racing. I didn't see the same service guys in the couple years I was there...lots of very young faces. I hope this isn't the case. If you aren't familiar with a seven (or indicate you have a reasonable wallet!) please be careful. I know Ian is very active and helpful with the Caterham community, however my experience wasn't positive and I hope my review is factual and can help potential future customers and existing customers if they see similar signs. Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change, Steering & suspension repair
