Been coming here for years. Its a very relaxing atmosphere no matter the time of year. Nice for a walk or to sit down on a bench by the Thames to relax. There's a small choice of places to eat/ go for a drink. However, I wouldn't recommend the bounty (across the other side of the river) unless it's for a drink. I've been disappointed too many times by them with the food quality. In the summer it's overcrowded. I'd recommend eating and drinking at the spade oak (unfortunately it is not right by the river, but it's close enough). I've never been disappointed by them. Not to mention it's right beside the car park you'll probably need to stay at. Speaking of the car park: getting to the marina can be a challenge in the summer, the car park at spade oak gets very very busy. However, the rest of the year it's the perfect place to park and walk down. It's not too far but allows you to witness the rest of the areas scenic views. You may need to be patient and wait for a space to open up.
