Spice Merchant Cookham

I have to say I was very surprised how bad my experience was with the Spice Merchant was. It started very badly with the food taking two hours to be delivered. This was after several calls over that period where we were told that the food was on its way and should be with us in five minutes. That was a bad start but the food was just as bad. The only saving grace were the starters of chicken & lamb lollipops which were tasty. The main courses were all very disappointing, lacking spice and flavour. They were also swimming in oil. The breads were also flavourless. I dont like to give reviews like this but in this case it is well deserved especially as it was extremely expensive. 150 for five people. For that kind of money it should have been allot better. Worst curry I have had I recent memory!

Came out for dinner, fancied a curry, so chose here, lovely quaint setting,in the adorable village of Cookham, love hearts on table, attentive staff, good ambiance, food was fantastic, highly recommend The Tandoori lamb chops, which were marinated with subtle spices, the succulent meat just fell off the bone, price reflected the good quality food, will return

NOT WORTH THE PRICE Lentiles not cooked enough . Bland food Bad service . Asked for the bill and my husband still drinking his beer and the waiter came to change the table cloths . Bizzarr even though the restaurant was empty waste of money Vegetarian options: Raw lentils, bland
