High Wycombe Fire Station

My name is Malcolm Jacks, I am a senior citizen, I live on Carisbrooke Avenue, HW, HP124NL. Yesterday seeing the terrible fire incidents on TV in London, I was terrified the same thing was possible on my street. There is a grass verge and hedge opposite the houses on our Rd. The council have the grass cut every few months, but they leave the cuttings, they pile up and in the hot sun are a tinder box waiting to catch fire, I would have tried to water them down outside my house but my hose doesn't reach far enough. The other side of Lane End Rd. opposite where I live is a large grass land , which fortunately the farmer cuts and collects the hay. But if the Grass and hedge in my street catch fire and the wind is in my direction i like to think what would be. They say prevention is better than a cure. I phoned the council and they took my complaint, but before they did, they said don't worry we are expecting rain??? .I would like some one in authority to come and access this situation, Please.

Thanks to all the personnel involved in the two gas explosions at Park Sreet on Monday 5 August. Helpful, friendly. Gave us a cup of tea and I even was offered a cigarette. Well done girls and boys xxx
