I had a client try to pay an invoice whilst on the phone to me and was clearly cross with his treatment at this particular branch of Nationwide. He was speaking to the manager who was quite uptight about paying an invoice albeit the details provided by this gentleman was inaccurate. I cleared this up with the manager who mentioned their fraud and protection policy immediately into the conversation like I was some sort of con artist. I was able to send the accurate details online and whilst this manager went off to get the invoices and print them out my client was very upset and started using colourful language. Suddenly out of the blue another customer service person requested to speak to me, may I emphasise during my conversation with my client I said I was with Metro Bank who have problems with payments into their accounts and I stated I dont understand why Nationwide were being so awkward? This gentleman took the phone and proceeded to tell me about how Metro are not part of the set up and that I was not right when it came to the client not presenting the right information. This gentleman had a complete disregard for anything I had to say and I made this clear to him during this conversation. I reiterated that the information given to my client was correct to which the customer service agent disregarded and then I mentioned that his colleague was about to receive the exact same information of the invoice of which I gave my client. He then went on to accuse me of swearing and laughing about his colleague to which I said this is also not correct as the client was evidently upset with the service he received the gentleman proceeded to accuse me of lying and I got cross and said that he was unprofessional and to get lost. He hung up on the clients phone which again was not his call. I have never seen such poor customer service from a company before and I am not one to complain but this was absolutely outrageous and I count my lucky stars I am not a customer with Nationwide.

I have never seen such poor customer service from a company before and I am not one to complain but this was absolutely outrageous and I count my lucky stars I am not a customer with Nationwide.
