FIRST YEARS, do NOT stay here. For the following reasons: It is EXTREMELY exspensive for what you are getting. Hughenden provides almost identical facilities for much less money. Furthermore I have friends in reading that are FULLY catered for the same price as living in hudgenden, in a much nicer and affluent area. The cleaners and cleaning company are USELESS. Not only do they very rarely do anything other than take the bins out (which for an extra 40 a week, I really wouldnt mind just doing myself) they constantly try and find ways to fine you for extra cleaning including being fined for leaving my OWN possessions in my OWN KITCHEN! Absolutely ridiculous and would not be accepted anywhere other than a halls of residence, where they can pray on students who are powerless to the university. The bathroom and bedrooms are so poorly designed. The lip on the shower basin is so small, without weighting down the shower curtain it is certain to flood the bathroom every time. Furthermore the drain is tiny and clogs incredibly easy. I am a male with short hair and produce very little to clog a shower and yet I have had to take the top part of the drain because of the filling and flooding of the bathroom due to this issue. The bedroom has absolutely NO way of regulating heat and due to the extremely tight safetly latches on the windows it becomes ridiculously uncomfortable and humid. Everyone suffers this problem and all the rooms seem to suffer with these same issues The blind offers almost no retention of light and only seems to exist to stop cold air coming into the room. I actually sleep with the window completely uncovered as it keeps zero light out and helps get some cool air into the room. Windsor is in a great location, however Im writing this as I hope an applicant can read this and avoid wasting a huge amount of money living in Windsor next year.
