The craft workshops put on by Rural Antics at the Hanwell Wine Estate are second to none. Your day is a delight from the moment you arrive at the craft barn. There is a warm friendly welcome before the class begins. The tutors are first rate and before you know it , it is time for the delicious lunch. The afternoon, as your work of art takes shape, flies by.as you find yourself totally engrossed. A day here is the perfect antidote to a stress filled week. The workshops provide the ideal taster sessions and thanks to Rural Antics I have discovered a passion for spoon carving , fostered by tutor Martin.

Ive done a few of the Rural Antics courses at the beautiful Hanwell Wine Estate and loved every one. The tutors have all been great - knowledgable on their subject and (this is the difficult part) able to teach it to a complete novice like me. Group sizes are never too big so the tutor is able to support everyone as much as they need. I have developed a real love of wood carving and whittling thanks to Martin and, thanks to John, have made a beautiful chair and table that I still cant quite believe were my own work! Spending the day immersed in creativity at one of their courses is a perfect antidote to the stresses of the week. In addition to learning a new skill you will be well looked after by Amanda, your host for the day, and enjoy one of Helenkas fabulous lunches, youll even get to sample some delicious local wine all in a lovely vineyard. It doesnt get better than that!
