Thumbs Up Education Programme Limited
I have had the pleasure of working at the fabulous Barnston Primary over the course of the last four years in my capacity as a lead facilitator with The Thumbs Up Education Programme. We deliver skills based around Cognitive Behaviourial Therapy, focussing on such aspects as building self-esteem, raising confidence, resilience, empathy, mindfulness, self-awareness, self-worth and so much more - all skills that are very much part of the Barnston way. Every time we have worked with the various classes, each and every group has given enthusiasm, passion and that sense of fun (whist still maintaining respect) towards us and our programme. The teachers have always been incredibly supportive of the work we do, and all appear to have a fabulous relationship with the children - always wonderful to see. One particular aspect that always strikes me from the children at Barnston, is how kind they are to each other - another joy to see. My belief is that this of course stems from the way the school is lead by the fabulous Head and staff and the success ethos that surrounds the school. Thank you for the wonderful opportunities you offer to Thumbs Up to work in this fabulous school.

From the moment you walk through the doors, the warm, caring ethos emanates from both staff and pupils, alike. Behaviour is exemplary, where children are polite, respectful and attentive to any visitor and staff are extremely approachable and welcoming. My children have thrived at this school, where well-roundedness is at the heart of the curriculum, with regular art and competitive sports days on the calendar and strong topic-led learning. The monthly open assembly for parents to attend and celebrate achievements and birthdays promotes the importance of parental and community links and the fantastic PA runs a plethora of fundraising activities, demonstrating how closely linked the school is with its locality. As an ex-pupil and a child who adored my time at this school, I was absolutely thrilled that my own children were able to gain a place at Barnston.

Awful school , no understanding of the meaning (Zero Tolerance) The Head of school has no problem brushing the bullying of a pupil by not just other pupils but a certain teacher (Mr Woods) under the carpet and this is not just a one off but has happened on numerous occasions and has resulted in ex pupils suffering long lasting effects .
