Eat but dont stay! Arrived to a very pleasant reception. Asked to pay and pre-order breakfast without seeing the room. Never a good sign. Shown to room and it was small. The only storage was a small bedside cabinet and a 2 ft rail with hangers. En-suite was a good size though. In my opinion the room was overpriced. Had dinner there and it was first class. Excellent food at a fair price with friendly and efficient service from the 2 ladies/girls. Thanks to you both. Went to our room at about 10.30. Okay we had chosen to stay in a pub so expected some noise to closing time. Not a problem. It went quiet at about 11pm and we fell asleep. All good till about midnight when we were woken by loud music and laughter. Put up with it till about 2pm and then went downstairs to see what was happening. It was 4 members of staff. They did turn the music off but said they had never had any problems like this before. Effectively saying I was at fault for complaining! The laughter continued till just before 3 am when I assumed by all the door banging they went to bed. After such poor nights sleep we could not wait to leave so left without having breakfast. We wont be staying again. Its such a shame as I really wanted to like this place as it is perfectly situated for a stop off on our frequent trips to Scotland. Note to management. Decide what you want to be. The pub/restaurant are very good but if you want overnight guests you will have to treat them better than this.
