Pretty Gorgeous Cake Company

In search of finding our dream wedding cake we came across Pretty Gorgeous Cake Company on google. With all of its reviews was hopeful and excited that this could be where our wedding cake comes from. But to our disappointment, nobody got back to my email, my contact request nor even the voicemail left when calling. I appreciate suppliers have a busy time in the summer, but to leave it longer than a week before even just reaching out to a potential customer i feel is not good business. Will definitely NOT recommend this company to anyone i know of that could be getting married.

Cynthia made our beautiful, two tier wedding cake. The cake tasted amazing and looked lovely too! Cynthia was really helpful and provided a 5* service, even though we had to book very last minute.

Im not a routine reviewer or critique, I hadnt planned to leave a review, however, a friend recently highlighted the importance, so here goes Cynthia is a fantastic sales woman. We planned to go for a simple semi-naked 3 tier wedding cake, she up-sold us the idea of something much more involved, which we bought into. The subtle theme of our wedding was world travel, as such, Cynthia proposed the idea of a very elegant looking gold fondant map on the largest tier of the cake - we liked the idea. Cynthia also advised us that she only takes one big cake order per weekend as it involves so much work, she would only have time for ourstherefore justifying the ridiculous price tag that came with our cake. (When Cynthia arrived at our venue, she mentioned that she had 2 other wedding cakes in her car, that she needed to deliver after ours too - thought nothing of it at the time.) Slightly pre-occupied on the day of our wedding, we only really got to see our cake late in the evening, as our guests gathered around for the cake-cutting ceremony we looked down to find what can only be described as a huge, 3 tier, gaping, various shades of burgundy/red/pink VAGINA, which she had kindly proceeded to decorate with some fondant flowers ?!?!?! The bottom tier did have some gold fondant splodges, which no one could quite decipher to be anything but the handiwork of a child, certainly nothing resembling a world map. There was absolutely no link to the world travel theme, or the gently marbled, hint of soft pink on predominantly white fondant, that we had asked for. We paid extra for a touch of gold foil work, she used some very tacky yellow looking gold paint instead, to highlight the edges of the vagina. To be fair to Cynthia, she did tell us that she was going to add some flowers, free of charge, as the cake didnt quite look right. She also admitted after the wedding that she only added the flowers because she thought the cake looked vulgar. Thankfully we were in such high spirits on the day, that we were able to have a sense of humour about it & our guests also had a good giggle. So, appearances aside, our incredible caterers kindly saved us a slice from each tier, the largest tier actually had half the cake leftover (250 guests, we were not expecting so much to be leftover), excitedly go to taste it the following day, it tasted like soap. Dense, stodgy, chewy soap. Absolutely nothing like what was offered at the initial tasting. The largest tier of our OVERPRICED fondant floral VAGINA tasted like SOAP. Our wedding cake is still the (front) butt of family jokes. Maybe it was just our bad luck, but Cynthias customer service left much to be desired. She did not even offer a simple apology & vehemently refused accept any fault.

I've been meaning to leave a review for a long time to say thanks to Cynthia and team for the best wedding cake we could have asked for. Delivered on the day to the venue it was perfect. Coming near to 3 years later and I still think about how good each layer was. We had Black Forest Gateau , Pink Coconut, Champagne and Malteaser. I luckily got to eat cake for a week and it was divine. It was so good that when we wanted a cake for our god daughter's 2nd birthday we knew where to come. We asked for a trolls cake and as per the pictures it was incredible to look at and eat!! I would highly recommend cynthia and the pretty gorgeous cake company. Will be treating myself for my birthday this year I think.....
