It's a disgrace that companies like this can simply go into recievership, not pay people who have done work for them, then simply change their name. Hopefully karma will do it's best on this lot.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I believe A1 Lofts and extensions are trading under a new name (A1). This is a business that is going into liquidation with 1.7m debt, leaving at least 42 customers with loss of deposits, no roof or an unfinished loft, including us. There has been little to no communication, and no help. I would hate for this to happen to any more families.

Avoid with a barge pole! Their Managing Director, Steve Mills, misrepresented their capabilities and mis-sold products to us.I am about to start a claim of 8,500 against them for misrepresentation under the Consumer Protection Act 2015 for recommending a totally unsuitable system for electric underfloor heating. Despite giving us personal assurances, Steve Mills totally failed to deliver. He talks a good story but cannot walk the talk. I understand the firm is now being liquidated!

A1 is a money collecting agency, otherwise everything is done by subcontractors. On top of that they are running a scam: they build a few projects than go into insolvency (some form of it) and take your money with them to open a new company with a similar name, logo, etc. Just check Companies House for A1 Lofts. This is what happened to us, signed the contract, paid the deposit and never heard from them except for the liquidation announcement. A1 Lofts & Extensions is in liquidation and the new A1 L&E is born. Find a better company to trust with your money and built. The owner's daughter Ricky Lee Mills is doing the sales. She came to our house, saw our two small children and forged ahead with signing the contract, perhaps knowing too well it will never happen and we will not see our money back.
