Unfortunately, I couldn't give less than one star. I attended a funeral recently attended by them. (Cathedral Funeral Services) All looked ok until the coffin was laid at the front of the crematorium, there was military marching music for the deceased. As the bearers left the coffin, the funeral director (buffoon) marched back up the aisle as if he was leading the parade of a circus as if he was conducting the music. He seemed to think he was at a party, Absolutely disrespectful. To add insult to injury as the priest read the Lords Prayer out loud with the mourners, he, the buffoon decides to sing the prayer out loud above the mourners. It felt he seems to be thoroughly enjoying the day, with no thought for the loved ones of the deceased. Maybe he should go back to owning a florist shop!

Cathedral Funerals were engaged for our uncle's Funeral. First class service all the way, nothing was to much trouble and worry free. Lesley & Patrick were always available to talk about anything that popped in my mind as things do at these difficult times. From the flowers to the service in the Forest of Dean. To collection of a mourner, his partner from Gloucester & returned home safely after in a funeral car. Would most highly recommend their services for this difficult time. 10/10

It has taken me a few years to talk about this, not because of the service offered but because of the traumatic issues surrounding the death of my loved one. The service offered felt perfunctory. They wouldn't be my choice moving forward. However, I hope that I never have the need of a funeral home again until it is my turn to go. My solicitor suggested that another funeral director might have been more suitable since at the time, this was the only funeral home that expected payment very quickly after the event. To be clear funeral expenses can be paid out of an estate prior to the grant of probate but sometimes the only real asset in the estate is the beloved one's property and not all relatives have the money to pay in the interim. Despite meetings with the funeral director mistakes, that no one else might have noticed, were made. The worst was that there was no discussion of my relative's remains. We later discussed this by email but was told that they had no record of this. Some time later I emailed asking for confirmation of the appropriate disposal but received no response. I asked about a cheap coffin. I did this not because I didn't want to spend money but because my relative had always considered an expensive coffin a complete waste of money and resources when being cremated. I wanted to honour their preference for a more eco friendly solution. I failed because I didn't shop around.
