Having been put off attending a Dentists by a scary and evil Dentist as a child (1970's), I have spent the last 40 years giving them a wide berth and only attending surgery when absolutely necessary. My first visit to the Tupsley Practice was one of these "absolutely necessary" occasions. From my very first interaction with Tracey Hickin on reception I felt I was in good and more importantly caring and proffesional hands. My first appointment was with Roxana Stoenescu who couldn't do enough to make me relaxed and put me at ease, bearing my aversion to Dentists. She recommended that before she under took any required work I would greatly benefit in seeing Sarah Childs, the Dental Therapist, for some much needed Hygiene work. Through a bit of luck and some patient cancelations I was able to have 4 appointments with her within a week. Like Roxana she ensured that she did everything to put my mind at rest and made me feel as comfortable as was possible. After my first appointment I couldn't wait for the next 3 and the difference she has been able to make to the appearance of my teeth and my "dental confidence" was amazing. I'm writing this mainly to help and encourage other people like myself, who have been put off visiting a Dentist because of bad childhood experiences and subsequent adult fear. I'm now a "believer" and am genuinely looking forward to my next appointment with Roxana. Great work Tupsley!

Very competant and can rest assured that what few teeth I have left are in safe hands.

Excellent welcoming service. attention got detail in the lead up and acquiring medical history. I've only just switched after 40 years of seeing my own brother (cheeky monkey retired) so now seeking care locally. Thank you Roxana and the team; examined, x-rayed, booked in for hygienist and next 6 months all done.

I knew my teeth were not in good shape before the Covid restrictions but two years on and still unable to get a NHS appointment, they were becoming unstable and causing me pain. A visit to Tupsley Dental Practice confirmed my worst nightmare x-rays showed that most of my upper teeth were too badly infected to repair and it was just a matter of time before they would have to be removed for the sake of my oral and general health. And then what? I asked about dental implants and was given an idea of cost and basic details of what was involved. By the time I reached home, I had pretty much decided that if I were a suitable candidate for implants, I would go for it. Over the following months, I was given a treatment plan and attended for various tests and procedures, such as a fascinating 3D scan of my jaw all included in the price and had the opportunity to ask as many questions as I needed to. Finally, the day arrived for the implant surgery and, amazingly, I felt hardly any anxiety at the prospect of what was about to happen even though I have lived with a fear of extractions since a childhood dental experience left me traumatised. I have never coped well with one extraction, let alone 8 or 9 all at once! But I had been so well prepared by all the dental staff involved that I had no fear, feeling confident that I was in good hands and would receive the best care possible - and this was the case from start to finish. I was kept comfortable throughout and felt no pain during the procedure and very little afterwards, other than soreness and tenderness which was only to be expected. Post-op care and advice has also been absolutely first class. I now have teeth that make me want to smile all the time. I bless the day I found Tupsley Dental Practice and have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone contemplating dental implants, or any dental treatment for that matter.
