Lack of communication throughout! Emails and calls to our project manager were not responded to on a number of occasions. Deliveries were delayed without any communication. The only time Id get information is if I chased regularly and CCd in other managers. Appreciate there are sometimes delays but the lack of information/communication had a knock on effect on other contractors who were left hanging because we didnt even know about the delay. Target completion date for the erection of our frame was also missed by a considerable number of weeks and again, no communication to let us know or explain. A number of issues with the quality/erection also. Some of this was covered by snagging, some of it wasnt. There were a couple of really helpful individuals but in the most part the customer service was poor. I could go on!

Taylor Lane Wooden Frame supply for a Barn extension
First Survey
TL contractors sent the ground workers noticed that the survey was incorrect and the footings were not aligned with the existing barn
Second Survey
The same people sent from TL following my/groundworkers/architect concerns about the first survey who were filmed kicking the posts and strings to realign the first survey outlines
Cancelled concrete pour due to 2nd incorrect survey causing 6 week delay and extra concrete costs due to larger than needed footings from incorrect surveys
Independent company bought in for correction survey finds 238 mm orientation mistake (600 cost) and further delays
Construction mistakes: -
North Wall:-
All 3 arrow slit windows are double the correct size from the plans
Door frame 100 mm to small in height (needing corrections)
East Wall
2500 mm to big and needed to be reconstructed so that it fit with South wall (2 days work)
West Wall
Both downstairs windows are different sizes (heights) they should have been the same steel girder drilled in the wrong place (TL had to correct this)
The Bathroom wall not constructed/supplied at all
Unable to construct the frame in the time frame needed (due to incorrect survey) so had to get others to do this at a significant extra cost above and beyond the TL quote (The TL offer to construct was months to late on top of the survey delay)
Lintels not costed or provided only told they would not be supplied in January 2023
Internal wall Supports
Two of the internal walls were out of alignment to footings measurements
First Survey
TL contractors sent the ground workers noticed that the survey was incorrect and the footings were not aligned with the existing barn so footings were stopped
Second Survey
The same people sent from TL following my/groundworkers/architect concerns about the first survey who were filmed kicking the posts and strings to realign the first survey outlines
Cancelled concrete pour (again) due to 2nd incorrect survey causing 6 week delay and extra concrete costs due to larger than needed footings from incorrect surveys
Independent company bought in for correction survey finds 238 mm orientation mistake (600 cost) and further delays (TL said there tolerances were 5mm otherwise they would not construct)

Taylor Lane said they were unable to construct the frame in the time frame needed (due to incorrect survey) so we had to get others to do this at a significant extra cost above and beyond the TL quote (The TL offer to erect/construct was then said to be months away and to late on top of the survey delays and weather issues)
Internal wall Supports were out of alignment to footings measurements
Lintels not costed or provided only told they would not be supplied in January 2023
Taylor caused the loss of scheduled contractors due to the delays caused - the project is now 6 months late and 25k over budget due to their incompetence and duplicities .
