Lovely little campsite. Found it last minute. The guys that run it are lovely and the ladies in the shop too. Lovely fishing lakes. Lovely kids play area. Well maintained. Toilet / shower Facilities are spotless. Well stocked shop. My only negative was the speed that other campers drove round the kids playing field it was a bit rediculas, but you cant help stupid! Will Defiantly be back :) Thanks

Our first time at Blacklands and sadly we were unimpressed! We arrived yesterday teatime and within a minute of parking up a new arrival pulled in right next to us as they were clearly joining up with others and decided to park their trailer tent on an angle right in front of us and in doing so blocked any view/sun towards the play park to watch our children in middle of the field - this wasnt great but being neighbourly we didnt say anything however they then proceeded to unfold the canvas, obscuring even more of our outlook! The site was described as neat and tidy, but the grass was extremely long and untended. We then got woken up by constant power outages which affected our appliances causing them to alarm through the night, and then at around 1am disturbed by a young child screaming and screaming (and clearly left to scream) which went on repeatedly throughout the rest of the night. We tried the emergency number on the website but no response. We woke up this morning extremely tired and unrested and we then faced with a power cut for an hour or so (something that happens apparently on the South side of the site if too many guests). The facilities (loos & showers) were average and the nearest ladies ones to us were a portacabin with no windows, so completely unusable during the power out as totally pitch black. No map or welcome pack with information or helplines offered on arrival. No one answering the emergency phone line. Having paid 108 for a two night stay, we decided to leave at around 10am this morning (after just x1 horribly disturbed night) and head home, tired and hugely disappointed. We appreciate that inconsiderate neighbours and noisy/screaming children throughout the night is not the fault of Blacklands, but having no one there to help sort it out wasnt acceptable. A hugely disappointing trip for us and our children - in fact our worst ever and most disturbed nights camping and sadly a total waste of money.
