Took overpayments for my Nan and then had to spend time fighting to get it back and be refunded, still don't believe it adds up,so going through the whole process again!

To all the amazing staff who have looked after Dorothy, especially over the last few days, you are an amazing team. Without your compassion and love she would nt have lasted so long. Thank you all so much xx Steve & Angela

I have a friend in there, who use to work in a care home, and she finds it intolerable and with some hygiene issues that are not addressed. She is getting patients eating off her plate and has witnessed violence in there. I have had a grandparent, who passed away from Alziemers , and I certainly wouldn't have left her in this place. I have not seen it for myself, but intend to visit my friend some time in the future, when I can work out bus and train fares and travel with my mobility scooter. However, my friend doesn't have dementia or Alziemers, but if you have family there-please pay them visits. Although,my grandmother didn't recognise my parents at the end-they were with her and visited her daily, when they could no longer care for her at home. They may not recognise you, but the fact that you are there stimulating them through conversation and seeing that they are taken care of properly, as you would if they were in hospital makes it better than putting them in a care home and forget about them.
