We stayed here in late April. Our room was in the annex which is directly opposite the Owl. I am not fond of annexes but in this case the room was really good and quiet, unfortunately the heating was poor and hence the room was rather cool. The owl itself is really great, comfortable bar area and a very nicely done dinning room. We had dinner on the Saturday and the food was excellent, the Owl doesnt do evening meals on sunday, sunday lunch only (until 5pm) so we ate as late as possible. The meal was very good and plenty of it, possibly too much. The beef was really good, a large thick slice. Breakfast was standard, which for a hotel at this level was a bit disappointing although the food was good. Service was great, friendly staff keen to help but like so many places there are staff shortages although it was never a problem for customers Overall a great weekend
