The most beautiful venue for a wedding. Lucy and Rachel were fantastic from start to finish. The food was incredible, thanks to Ricci and Mark at Kendale Catering. Highly recommended!

In May 2022, I organised a fundraising Dinner Dance event for over 100 people for displaced citizens of Ukraine. The Sussex Barn is an exquisite rural venue but within easy reach of Hailsham and was just perfect for the event. From start to finish Rachael and Lucy were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We had drinks in the courtyard before going in for a sit down 2 course dinner , auction raffle and dancing. The Barn lending itself beautifully to the occasion and I received so many compliments about the venue as a whole. We used Kendale Caterers who are the Sussex Barn's preferred choice and they were absolutely fantastic, the food was delicious. I highly recommend The Sussex Barn as a venue, and what's more, we raised a staggering 9500 which wouldn't of been achievable without the help of Lucy Rachael and Ricci.

A Beautiful romantic venue in the sussex country side. The team were amazing ,helpful , polite and all one could ask for . We had the most amazing experience as a family at our sons wedding. It is so brilliant to find a venue where one can taylor your wedding to personal desires and needs. The barn is great value for money and so versatile. We were able to decorate it to create exactly what the bride and groom wished for. The team were there to help at every point . I cannot praise our experience to highly. I feel confident our son and his new wife really did have the very best experience . The guests have all commented on the beauty of the barn and how much they enjoyed the event . I would like to thank Sussex Barn and the team for a wonderful experience that we will remember our whole lives.

This is a most beautiful barn in a lovely setting, an ideal venue to hold a celebratory occasion with plenty of space in the barn and the most super outdoor area. Rachel was so accommodating and helpful, it was easy to talk to her and make any necessary arrangements. Nothing was too much for her. I would recommend everything about this venue. D.Cottingham

The Barn and location itself are beautiful it's just a shame that the rest was such a disappointment and massive let down!!! We experienced theft, rudeness, had the mickey taken out of us by both the barn and caterers and then there's the lies and cover ups! This places certainly lives up to "you get what you pay for" it's cheap for a reason!!!! I'll bullet point our main issues for easy reading; My husband's rayban sunglasses were stolen by a member of staff. Caterer confirmed they were on our table at 12.30am when he locked up then in the morning the tables were removed along with the sunglasses. The only other people onsite until we got there to clean up were Rachael's team that she uses for the tables but apparently the sunglasses weren't there when she was onsite at 8am and her team arrived later. Very convenient! Rather than help look for or deal with the missing raybans by calling the people who were all onsite they were just rude and covering up the truth, one minute they're there the next they're not so somebody is lying or covering up!? They'd clearly been stolen and you'd expect the venue owners to help but nothing was done other than cover up for the thief! Several bottles of 10 a bottle table wine which was unopened were not returned to us, these where what we'd supplied ourselves. We paid for the "beverage service package" with the cash bar given free of charge however part way in to our wedding day the caterers told my husband that they were going to stop serving our own supplied drinks because the bar wasn't making enough money, although this was never mentioned at any point before our wedding and they knew exactly what we would be providing for our guests as we'd discussed this in person and when we gave it to them to chill 2 days before the wedding. We had received our final invoice and paid the deposit for the caterers and after previously speaking to Ricci to we needed to remove a number of people. He sent the amended final invoice and had increased the price per person by an additional 2.50 each without letting us know and after having already agreed the price per person! We were only removing people so this should not have affected the cost per person. This was sneaky and under hand!!!! 2 members of the bar staff were very unprofessional and were giving their numbers out guests and one was seen kissing one of our guests on the dance floor. The 300 barn deposit is meant to be returned within 7 days, we didn't get ours back for 2 weeks and that was after chasing several times. I was then told it was done the day before which was not true because I'd checked my account the evening before and the money wasn't there which prompted me to sent another email chasing. The following day I got a notification from my banking app notifying me I'd just received a payment (they are always instant) and at the same time received an email from Rachael saying it was paid yesterday. I'd love to know when we would have received our money back if I'd not chased for it. We were told by Rachael when we told her about our issues with the bar and them telling us about not serving our own supplied drinks that this is common and that the barn will be having a corkage fee soon because of this so we're not the only one's to have this issue! We were hoping to come back here at some point in the future to renew our vows but after the many issues we experienced this will no longer be the case! If you choose this venue for your wedding please be wary, all seems well at first but not all is as it seems and you're highly likely to face the same disappointment as us!!!!!!! Such a shame as the venue itself was so lovely!
