Undercooked chips, over cooked dry chicken in the burger. Better off going elsewhere.

The restaurant was practically empty although if you ask me people are missing out on this spot. Staff were absolutely lovely. Portion sizes were very good and the prices were VERY reasonable! I wasn't a huge fan of the Buffalo sauce they used but my mum (who I went with) really enjoyed her veggie Burrito and the sides (fries and onion rings) were absolutely brilliant. 100% will go again when I next visit Hedge End.

On having been out shopping further away on a Friday night where everything was fully booked we found ourselves trying to find places that were on our way home. When I stumbled across this place I saw recent good reviews and thought we should give it a go as neither of us could choose what we wanted. We arrived and entered requesting our table for two and we were sat, the place was relatively quiet and to begin with it appeared to be that there was only two members of staff, one being in the kitchen. We idly looked through the menu and scanned the barcode to order as the table (and the menu) instructed us to. After around 10/15 minutes the waitress came over and asked if we were ready to order - we mentioned that we were going to do it on the website to be told that we couldn't as not everything had been loaded on there correctly so it wasn't working. Not the end of the world so of course we ordered the pre-covid way. We had two of the Caveman Burgers, macaroni cheese bites and the pulled chicken nachos. The drinks took a long time (for two cokes and only about 5 tables seated) but they came with an apology for the wait and that is more than enough. When the food came after 20/25 minutes my initial thought on the nachos was that of depression. It was all the same colour which is of course a beige yellow. The burgers were not what I would call gourmet as someone in another review mentioned but rather reminded me of something I could buy in the famous frozen supermarket that mum's tend to go to. The chilli that was in it had such little heat it was more of a minced beef stew. Although apologetic the staff could maybe do with some training in hospitality as barely a smile was cracked and I felt like they would rather have been at home, where I'm sure there was more of an atmosphere for a Friday night. One star is for the fact that apologies were made about any delay on food or drink. The other star is for the fact that a restaurant has achieved what I thought could never be achieved - food that was so bland I'd rather have the polythene box that the takeaway came in. At one point we were the only customers offered a free burrito that the kitchen had cooked so not sure if the staff believed we were the only ones that looked like we enjoyed food, or if they'd heard some of my comments about how the kitchen could learn to use seasonings such as salt and other herbs and spices. The food and the experience was not bad enough to complain but certainly not good enough to beckon me back through the dimly lit door. I won't lie, I can't imagine myself re-attending and I wouldn't recommend to my friends or family.
