Stephen Walford Piano Teacher

Stephen is an outstanding piano teacher. He has taught my daughter for past 5 years and helped Annie to achieve grade 8 with excellent results. She is now aiming for Diploma. Stephen is also very patient, professional and encouraging. We highly recommend Stephen to any parents who are looking for a piano teacher.

Steve is an exceptional teacher, he has a huge wealth of knowledge from his university education and vast experience in performing as well. He offers great technical advise to improve how you interpret and play music. He has helped me learn pieces by some of the best composers Grieg, Liszt and Chopin, as well as introducing me to lesser known musicians and genres. Through his tuition I have attained a merit at Grade 8 and now am working towards a diploma. As well as his impressive credentials he is patient, kind and always great to chat with. His lessons are always fun and I would highly recommend him for anyone looking for piano lessons at any level.

I started my piano lessons with Stephen after I had changed a few music teachers with none of whom I had really enjoyed my lessons, and it was mostly kind of doing my piano lessons well because mum and dad expect me to. However as soon as I started my lessons with him, as if a revolution had happened in me. He is such a fantastic teacher, he changed my perception of music. He is just so patient, kind, understanding, intelligent, and such a lovely soul. I truly enjoyed each and every lesson I had with him. I completed my Grade 8 with distinction just recently. I would love to carry on my lessons with him towards diploma as soon as I get back to Southampton again. Genuinely, I believe I have been extremely lucky to have had such an amazing teacher.

A fantastic piano teacher that got me to a grade 8 distinction level in just 5 years! I would highly recommend these lessons, you couldn't ask for a more talented, friendly and helpful piano teacher!
