Got my daughter's first haircut today. Positives: her hair does look okay, there was a certain amount of consultation about what we wanted, we have a lock of what was cut and a photo (including a second go at the photo when the first one didn't come out so well) and it was only 14 which seems okay, the car chairs were fun for my daughter. Cons: terrible access for wheelchair or pushchair users, the whole experience seemed very rushed even though we arrived early, the stylist seemed very unempathetic about why this experience was a big deal for us or why my wife was a little concerned that she didn't want too much length removed from my daughter's hair, the car chairs have lots of bits that move and they rock but every time my daughter moved the car she was told to stop which makes me wonder why they have these chairs at all, a cartoon was playing when I first sat my daughter in the chair which she was interested in but this was almost immediately turned off and never put back on again even though it was doing a good job of keeping her distracted; if there are cartoons available why not keep them playing? We heard good things by word of mouth so went out of our way to travel further but overall it was similar to many of the reviews that I've now read on here and it seems as if the negative reviews have not been used as an opportunity for learning. The staff seem quite cold and checked out even when they are part of a big moment for a family. On balance we wouldn't come back here. Wish we'd read the reviews before so we could have gone somewhere else.
