Do not ever instruct this person to work for you. If you find you are trying to buy from someone who is using him for their conveyancing, save yourself the trouble and find another house to buy. Dickensian, and I don't mean that as a compliment.

Where to start? I have never written a poor review of anywhere, as I don't really like to be negative, but I am making an exception for this company. Just to warn people that they should probably look elsewhere. We recently bought a property - the vendors unfortunately used Peter Bailey. A simple sale (we were already renting the property and were cash buyers). First off Mr Bailey didn't reply to our solicitors initial enquiry - hi insisted he had, so we eventually found out that he hadn't replied to our solicitor - he had decided to reply to another solicitor, who hadn't worked at the company for a couple of years. Next he had to organise a quick transfer of names at the land registry - this should take 8/10 days. He managed to make it take 10 weeks (and took offence, because our solicitor could see the land registry portal, and would point out that he hadn't answered their queries, or even attached the correct paperwork from the start). When our solicitors finally got hold of the deeds (which he wouldnt send - they had to request themselves from the land registry), they sent him a list of questions. The questions that the vendor had to answer were all done quickly - he totally ignored the 2 that he had to answer - so that part then took another 6 weeks before he finally did anything. Because every time he didn't do anything/did something wrong we had to pay our solicitor to chase it up/contact land registry, it all cost us a much inflated solicitors bill. It also cost the vendors at least 5000 as they were waiting for the proceeds from the sale to pay off an expensive (supposedly short term) loan. Our solicitor warned us at the beginning that she had dealt with him before and that he was at best slow, and at worse absolutely obstructive - you have been warned.

He is Incompetent takes a day and an age to get him to do anything. If you want a stress free quick solicitors I highly suggest to not go with him. He made the process very painful and I was constantly chasing him. I ended up going with another solicitors and they achieved more in a week than he did in a couple of months.
