When I went to reception, I was told that my appointment had been booked as an emergency appointment, and that the charge was 62.50. I pointed out that I had not asked for an emergency appointment, but for a non-urgent check to see if there was a problem developing with my previous treatment. However, the receptionist was adamant that was what had been booked, and so that was what I would be charged for. I would have thought that if a patient was unhappy with their treatment, a dentist would want to see if there was an issue free of charge, especially for a treatment this costly.
Needless to say, I am moving to another dentist at a practice which wants to make sure that patients are satisfied with the treatment they receive, rather than use their concerns to charge further excessive fees without telling them in advance. I asked the receptionist to let Rosanna know that I was moving dentist as a result of this experience and, as I didnt get any response, I presume the practice thinks their policy is fully justified.
