Agra Cottage Self Catering

We have ten years experience of staying at 4 and 5 star self catering accommodations in the U.K and the star rating doesn't mean an awful lot it turns out. We walked out of a hole in Cumbria that had years worth of food, grease, dust and dirt everywhere, (makeup on the pillows coffee splashes on the head board, mouldy cushions, hairs in the sink etc) Far too much for me to even make a difference so we left after 1 night and lost 1200 as the owner simply refused to accept our complaint. Turns out the 5 stars on their website were just decoration! Lesson learned. As a result, there's always a moment of anxiety as we enter a holiday cottage for the first time but there was no need for anxiety when it comes to Agra Cottage. We got as far as the living area and my partner said "clean!" and "think this is the best place we've stayed in" Agra cottage is exceptionally clean and beautifully restored with quality fixtures and fittings throughout. The independent reviews reflect this and was one of the reasons why I chose it. I would imagine it's very hard to please all the people all of the time as what one person finds lacking is irrelevant to another person, so the reviews I've read mean an awful lot. It's our first time in Yorkshire and I can honestly say it is by far the most beautiful place in the UK. Every location has areas of beauty but as you continue to drive you leave those areas and end up back in a more industrial location. North Yorkshire has miles and miles of country side separated only by the occasional quaint village. It never ends! I fell in love instantly, want to live here! Agra cottage is surrounded by stunning views from all sides, remote, quite and when the sky is clear you can see stars and distant galaxies due to the lack of industrial light and general pollution. What a wonderful place to live or stay. Mark the owner is onsite and available if needed as he lives close by but he has total respect for your privacy.
