        Been coming here for for over 35 years at Christmas and never been disappointed. However, this year was disgraceful. Food was fine but the service was appalling. No one on the bar when we first arrived, had to look for bar staff. Order was taken 3/4hr after our booking time, When meal did arrive no one came and asked if meal was OK, no one asked if we wanted more drinks. All staff disappeared by dessert so no one came and asked if we would like coffee.

        It feels like the middle on nowhere but is actually really accessible from the A1, A66 Darlington and Durham. We went to a fundraising event in the Coach ouse. The setting and Christmas decorations were stunning. We had canaps which we're delicious and kept coming. Staff were friendly and helpful. Toilets were good. Car park was full and the bar was a bit pricey but overall we highly recommend a visit. They have a Spa too.
