Have only used the shop as somewhere to get fresh milk. Does do a reasonable coffee in the summer. Otherwise no comments on the business other than a friendly welcome

The Blue Dial Caravan Park is about more than idyllic, children orientated, everlastingly remembered splashing and paddling in the Solway surf; not simply for the experiential, net dipping, shrimp catching and eating gourmet delights; nor for the uplifting, ozone inhaling therapy by the sea ! The Blue Dial experience is about nice people meeting other nice people in an exceptionally relaxed and scenic environment, where 50yards from your bed you can salve your feet and dissipate your worries with a paddle in the pure waters of the Irish Sea. 'Blue Dial' isn't so much a caravan site as a therapy and reinvigoration centre. 'Caravan' trivialises the holiday experience on offer. You hire a compact, luxury chalet at little cost where your family can come together to talk, walk, reminisce and recreate care free younger times when life had only pleasures. And you learn to be a family again ! If you like good food, things are even better at the Blue Dial. They have opened up the 'Moody Cow' for the freshest, most nutritious milk you ever imbibed. Use it seasoned to cook your skate wings from one of the fishing boats in the harbour. Or paddle in the tide across from Blue Dial with a garden fork and catch one live. You can't fail. Skinning them first is the difficult part ! The Hetherington family have run this place for generations. Infact their Saxon origin name derives from 'heath'/'heather' + 'farm' /'homestead'. They've been in farming for a millennium or so. With such an abundance of skate on their doorstep they'll show you how to catch that too. And ask them if you can borrow their shrimp net. Old Denis will have one around somewhere.
