The bells go off on a long, loud jingle every 15 minutes and are in desperate need of tuning. They never stop, even at night. I certainly would think twice about coming back to stay in Hayfield. Anyone left here must either be deaf or unable to leave (and unable to sleep).

I never visited this church but I did hear it because every 15 minutes of every day and night the church plays a little jingle. A very loud little jingle. This happens throughout the night. Why? It is so people can tell the time? Dont they know about Clocks/Watches/Phones? Is it for tradition? Could they perhaps find a less obnoxious way to celebrate tradition? Perhaps only playing the jingles during daylight hours. I guess the locals must either be used to it or have moved away because they cant get a wink of sleep. If youre a tourist its an absolute nightmare - lying in bed counting down the 15 minutes until the next jingle. Maybe its true purpose is to keep the tourists away: I wont be coming back, at least not staying overnight
