Currently.......Unfortunately it is sad to say but it appears standards have been going down gradually and many parents have 'quietly' taken their children out to attend other schools. Most complain about the education standard decline and lack of robust sporting activities or facilities. Some parents have complained about the school work and homework not being adequate in content or standard for the year /key stage their child is in and they decided to just give notice and change schools. There has also been quite a high staff turnover. We feel the school is no longer as good as it used to be. The pastoral care is not as good as before. We feel the education standards are not as high as they used to be. On numerous open days, prospective parents would ask why they had never heard of this school or what the academic standards were like, and one would always want to defend those questions robustly with genuine enthusiasm and evidence but unfortunately we feel this is no longer the case from our experience. One just needs to look at the recent leavers' destinations. A more robust , challenging , innovative approach /curriculum ,taught by enthusiastic teachers with a genuine desire to deliver lesson content in a manner which engages and encourages student participation and with a broader knowledge base of their subject - not some teachers who talk down to students, dampen and suppress a student's curiosity and desire to learn , instead of nurturing their abilities to be the best they can be, could be part of the answer. They need to go back to the drawing board and benchmark against schools that have been supporting students to achieve an excellent , well-rounded education with outstanding results and learn from what these schools are doing right. This school has great potential which is not being harnessed. "Valuable achievement can sprout from human society only when it is sufficiently loosened to make possible the free development of an individual's abilities" - Albert Einstein ___________________________________________________________ (Previously.....) This is a hidden gem in the Independent school sector. The pastoral care is second to none. The academic curriculum is holistic and the teachers go above and beyond expectations. The leadership is superb. Our son was Headboy and our daughter was Headgirl a year later. Both children were supported by the school and gained very excellent academic achievements and were well prepared when it came to taking 11+ entrance exams and Common entrance exams for top Independent schools. The extra-curricular activities are good. Both children played piano and violin. Our daughter attained gold in ballet and tap. The fencing teacher was an Olympian who interacted well and enthused the children. The small classes mean children get the attention they require in lessons. The staff are brilliant and always approachable. We have two younger children who are still at the school and they are blossoming. This is an excellent school.

This school is all heart and a home away from home . Its the most nourishing environment both on a personal development level and an academic level. I made the mistake of choosing another secondary school for my daughter after she finished her prep and my daughter was miserable and back at Wickham court senior which is called Bromley Independent Grammar now . I fully recommend it .
