Forge Close Surgery

Weve recently moved so registering elsewhere after almost 9 years at Forge Close Surgery. For so many reasons Im really sad to be leaving this surgery: The ladies at reception have always been so kind and helpful, and will go over and above to help when they can. I was away with my family for a long weekend once without my migraine prescription, and could feel one coming. When I called in a panic they agreed to speak to the local pharmacist, issued a repeat prescription and had it sent to my location. The doctors are brilliant. Dr Patel is lovely. Ive bumped into him away from the surgery before; he stops to chat/asks about your children by name, and is genuinely interested in how you are. When I went to see Dr Singh about stress she followed up with me a few weeks later, by which time I was feeling better. Her tone was suddenly really happy to hear me sounding so different. Dr Mageson has been another great GP over the years, generous with his time, explains things well, never rushes you off the phone. I have found this surgery so supportive over the years. Theyve kept us on since we moved in summer due to complications around moving, so wed have a smooth transition etc. Weve moved too far to stay at Forge Close sadly, otherwise Id never leave! * I saw some negative reviews below which I find hard to make sense of. Its a busy surgery and under pressure like surgeries everywhere. It can sometimes take a few weeks to get seen, but if its urgent and you call promptly at 8am youll get an appointment for that day. Im truly grateful to all the GPs and office staff for all their support.

Terrible, rude, unfriendly staff who, get pleasure from being rude or upsetting patients! I think in a previous life, they must of been concentration camp guards! Or maybe driving the trains to the camps

Truly the best Surgery I've ever known. Having been a patient with them for 5 years. Nothing is too much trouble. Sue and her colleagues on reception are so kind and helpful. Doctors are incredibly supportive. Thank you!

Impossible to get appointments. Phone lines super busy all the time. They stop your medication for reviews and ask you to call them to book the review, knowing that's an hour on the phone. Not available for appts on the nhs app. The doctors when you get to see them are alright but the wall of bureaucrasy in front of them makes that all but impossible. My advice: stay healthy!

Last 25 minutes on phone to get my prescription updated to my pharmacy which should have been done by surgery 4 weeks ago. Not happy.
