2 week stay with friends when i walked Hadrians Wall. 2 double bedrooms, large well equipped kitchen, large shower room. Living/dining room. (Although did miss a washer/dryer for wet clothes but not essential and not a downfall) Plenty space for 4 people. Genuine hosts, very welcoming and happy to advise on area and places to eat. Cottage one of 3 overlooking tidy courtyard garden in a small complex of 3 homes. Very clean and presentable. Well worth the money. Easy access to all areas as we used this as central base for Hadrians Wall walk.

A very quiet location, just what we wanted for our holiday. We were in Curlew Cottage for a week, self catering. Part of the Hadrians Lodge. It was very clean and well thought out. It was ideal for our cycling and walking holiday exploring Hadrians Wall countryside. The cottage provided everything, even the electric, although it had a payment meter there! It would have easier had a simple microwave been there, as it was I couldn't work out how to use it despite the instruction book. It was a bit neglected outside, grass needed cutting but new colourful hanging baskets were installed on our last day which made a difference to the appearance of the cottage. The bench outside would be ideal for star gazing weather permitting. It's about 3 miles from Haydon Bridge so you need to make sure you have everything you need! We preferred the Red Lion in Newbrough for drinking delicious Sycamore Gap beer brewed locally. All in all we would certainly stay there again as it ticked all the boxes for our needs for a brilliant holiday. The owners were friendly to speak to when booking and the travel instructions were spot on.
