The surgery has always been a great support to my family and I, even in the pandemic. I had to have multiple visits with my newborn son who had some breathing issues and a c-section wound which wasn't healing. I have always found the team friendly, prompt and helpful. I understand that there is frustration from people in trying to get an appointment, but every surgery is under strain, there is a national shortage and having heard experiences from friends and family members and their surgeries, I think Hawkinge is significantly better.

After waiting 6 weeks for scan results ( worrying ) and chasing the hospital after being told " its my job to chase hospitals not theirs !, i call to find out if they are back, ring in a few days i'm told after Doctors had a look, if its all ok we wont contact you !!!, I explained thats not great, and i would at least expect a text or e mail to say " all is normal ", a stroppy and rude receptionist talks over me as if i'm something she's trod in . How dare you speak to patients this way ! Its not the first time this practice is slated for its attitude, especially at the front desk. In the private sector you'd be sacked, or wouldnt still have a business, but as she works for the NHS, i guess the world owes her a living, so you can be as rude as you like and people still HAVE to come back. Next time i am face to face with a doctor, i will take this attitude up with him. dreadfull attitude from an uncaring member of staff who should NOT be interacting with patients in any way.
