We had lovely food in a great environment and were well taken care of by the staff. We will definitely come back.

Ive been coming to the Black Horse since I was a child and have never experienced anything to complain about until today, when my parents ordered 2 vegetarian roasts and I wondered if theyd be able to make it vegan. They said yes, theyd remove the nut roast, honey and yorkshire pudding. I didnt mind really as I thought theyd double up on the veg and roast potatoes. I was brought out a plate with a nut roast on itthe same as my parentsand told by the male (quite young, with glasses and dark hair) waiter that it was vegan. I wasnt convinced considering that the person behind the bar had said the nut roast couldnt be made vegan due to it having milk in. My dad went and found a waitress (the lovely woman who took our order in the first place) and she was shocked and immediately changed it for me, which I appreciated. It was a huge let down overall, especially as I had to wait while my parents ate and then, when we were waiting to order a dessert, we were ignored for 10 mins and even said excuse me to a waitress in a black and white striped shirt who ignored us. Instead of getting a dessert, we couldnt wait any longer and left. A disappointing experience but Im hoping next time will be betterif there is a next time. Id really like to see a vegan roast option.

Good sized pub next to the canal always been regarded as an upscale eatery option. Menu seemed to offer good choices for most options on a more traditional scale, the service was very good with helpful staff in a traditional surrounding which comes across as relaxed and unhurried. Also offers well stocked bar and outdoor seating with plenty of space and parking

The service was good. Our tab was transferred from the terrasse area to the restaurant. The food was very good, the salmon in particular. The furnishings and carpets are beginning tos how their age.
