Greenacres has a good staff to resident ratio, the staff appear to know their residents well and I've witnessed lots of good interactions. When viewing the home, the reception staff were attentive.

Too many temporary managers and not supporting the good staff, who have now left, and employing anyone without any basic dementia training whatsoever. My relative had no basic help in eating, with food placed in front of them then whipped away quickly as staff were more interested in clearing up than to assist the residents with eating. In the time my relative was in the home I pointed out on numerous occasions of my concerns of their weight loss, which the home and the doctor didnt address. I feel that a lot of lives have been cut short due to the lack of basic care. I feel that this was a factor in my relatives passing, and it was too convenience for the doctor to put on the medical certificate that my relative died of covid19. I knew that was not the case and it was investigated and the covid19 test was negative and the medical certificate had to be changed.

Due to my sister's condition she needs to be safe and secure and this gives me and her family reassurance, knowing the care and support given by the Manager and Care staff at Greenacres, a home of our choice is excellent. Not easy for them at times, I'm sure. Their clients like my sister need to have visits by friends and family members... nothing more stimulating than a friendly face. Staff are not expected to sit with an individual client day in day out. Five stars for the team at Greenacres.
