Black Pearl

Picked up a leaflet which said, Black Pearl under new management; all meals half price for the first week. We picked a meal from their website menu and went along. Guess what! All prices in the restaurant were twice the price shown on the website, so they doubled the prices and then gave it at half price; put very nicely, the advert was misleading. I will leave it to you to work out whether i will be visiting again!

Waited 1 1/2 hours for main courses, three of which were served with rancid, gone off meat. A special occasion ruined. The excuse was "a chef had changed shift in the middle of cooking our meal and hadn't told the incoming chef what was fresh." Other main courses were very poor. Manager completely absent - heard the waitress shouting at him "what am I supposed to tell them." Terrible.

Great menu but food was average for the price. Good portion of pork belly but it was very dry and where was all the crackling?! Great atmosphere. Service was very friendly but slow. Would return as this place has potential. Another dish on another night, who knows?

Lunch. Very nice food and good value. Recommended.
