This used to be one of the main reasons for visiting Hastings - always a favourite with the kids and adults alike in our party. We went yesterday and were so disappointed. The older couple usually in the shop were absent, and the work counter where wood could be personalised was also gone. In their place were a surly gentleman who never looked up from his phone and a foreign lady who never stopped chatting on the phone. We were all so saddened.
