Shop House is such a delightful shop full of carefully chosen beautiful gifts - the owners are really friendly and it is such a pleasure to shop here. It's my go to place whenever I am looking for a quirky unusual gift, especially for children.

We love shop house! Our son has the most fantastic bedroom thanks to the felt animal heads and garlands. And we have moomin plates and cutlery too! David and David are lovely and we look forward to every trip to see what wonders await!

Horrid experience The staff told us to go away after 15 minutes in the shop. My friends and I are tourists to Hastings. Today we stumbled into this exquisite little shop and was horrified by the attitude of the staff there. We spent around 10 to 15 minutes looking around in the shop while chatting in Chinese. There was only one male elderly staff sitting at the counter and he did not talk to us. We were just about to buy some cute cups at the counter when the staff said Sorry, are you just going to stand there for an hour no buying anything? My friends and I were completely taken aback by the sudden conversation and confused about his manner. He quickly repeated himself and add Just go. Go away. He was an elderly man with a harsh tone, while we were a couple of stuttered Chinese students. We left the shop completely bewildered. We did not deserve such sarcastic questioning and impolite attitude since we did nothing inappropriate. The shop was empty and only one customer came in when we were there. We were not crowding out any other customers and we treated the objects with caution. We were offended and extremely disappointed by this rude staff. He is a horrible representative of the beautiful town.
