Immediate disclaimer: I'm the owner's brother. That out of the way, I just wanted to say that he works really hard in this shop, has LOADS of experience and really knows what he is doing. He makes a point of not carrying cheap stock. If he puts a part on your bike he knows it will last. He can occasionally be a bit gruff (even with me! ) but try to remember that he has to repair a lot of bikes each month just to cover his rent and fixed costs and with parts inflation etc and some months barely manages to do even that. He doesn't always have time for long chit chat if he has a back log of jobs that he has to do to keep customers happy. He also tells me that sometimes people come in not intending to buy anything but are just trying to get free advice (" what do you think, would you do this, or that" you get the picture) so they can then attempt home repairs with Amazon sourced stock (no, really!) There were a couple of negative reviews about opening hours or holidays, but again, if you run a shop on your own and can't afford much help, you have no option but to shut if a crisis comes up or you want a holiday. These "old school" shops are gems, but they need your support if they are not going to close down and all disappear! Where I live ( I'm not local ) most of this kind of place have already gone unfortunately.

Have just had my bike drop handlebars changed to straight handlebars with new shifters and breaks and stem extensions, done a fantastic job as bike looks and rides great. Great service

I got a puncture as i was riding along the seafront. By off chance took the bike into the High Tides bike shop and they fitted a new inner tube there and then. The guy said my front brake pads needed replacing and did them as well .Great service you cant get better than that ,the best cycle repair shop in East Sussex a well deserved 5stars. MANY THANKS.
