        First time using venue and pier beer garden. Friendly people serving drinks. Gave advice on wine choice to go with my spritzer as didn't know which brand to choose. I accepted offer of a straw but declined ice and enjoyed drink with lemonade. Tasty, thirst quenching drink in a large, plastic container.

        The service was quick and efficient. I can recommend the Hastings Pier Lager which was served well chilled with a surprisingly full, hoppy flavour. Not keen on plastic glasses but that's health and safety for you. There was live music on the day we were there and the fine weather helped. It was a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon. Wouldn't be so good in wet windy weather though as there is no shelter whatsoever.
