My daughter has been going to Theatretrain for 4 years now. She loves it and has had the opportunity to perform at London shows and Disneyland Paris. Thoroughly recommended.

My son and daughter started Theatretrain Cambridge East over 8 years ago. They have loved every minute of it and while my son left a few years ago when he turned 18, my daughter (16) still attends and wants to keep going till she turns 18. The sessions are 3 hours on a Saturday, every week during term time, and at 80 per term, its great value for money. Ruth McKechnie, the centre manager has a great deal of experience and is a true professional, and has a great rapport with the kids. The drama, dance and singing coaches likewise share their passion, caring and knowledge with the kids, and this becomes evident in the way the kids show their preparedness and a genuine love for performing. The London shows include several centres and are always a great experience and opportunity to make even more friends. The local shows (on alternate years) are even more enjoyable as parents as the children get to showcase their talent in a more intimate setting (usually somewhere like the Mumford theatre in Cambridge or The Maltings in Ely). From being at the larger London shows, I have always been impressed that the children from this centre in particular is always one of the best prepared, if not the best, and they always put on a really good show and in a very professional manner. My children have made great friendships over the years and gained so much in terms of confidence, charisma and just being comfortable in any environment. The discipline of weekly attendance and participation (especially in the run up to a show) I feel are a good preparation for future challenges. I happily recommend them especially if your child is somewhat shy or lacking in confidence to start, as they will really enjoy themselves and slowly but surely grow in confidence.
