        Fantastic welcome from Ann and Danny. Fresh scones on arrival and a really comfortable room. Melmerby is beautiful and the local pub serves excellent food and beer The nearly 5 miles of continuous climbing from Melmerby to Hartside summit was the best part of the whole C2C ride for us. A really good road, fabulous views, sunshine and a tailwind - perfect cycling!

        Gate House B & B is the perfect retreat! We did the Coast to Coast in October and were met with the warmest welcome. Homemade scones and tea on arrival. A beautiful large bedroom with en-suite and a lovely hot shower just perfect after a long day in the saddle. The breakfast the next day was delicious, nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend this little gem to anyone!
