The door was damaged, either made that way or when Engie fitted it as little care was shown. Dented door and frame showing chips, scratches and gouges. The door looks cheap and tacky, the frame is over sized so I catch my knuckles on it each time I use my keys. The wooden frame is a joke as who still uses wood in this day and age. The door looks more worn than my old one, is less strong than my old one due to the soft wood frame and to be honest already has splits in it after only been up a month. I have zero faith in the door's security due to the frame and with gaps up to 0.2cm running up the door 40cm. It will other less fire protection than my old door. The council, Engie and this company have only offered excuses and are only interested in tarting the door up. I was lied to when the person came out to measure for the new door. I was told it was the same as my old one minus the letterbox and being a fire rated door. I was never told the frame was wood or I would have an ugly external door closer. I wasn't told the window would be smaller or the inside of the door was red where my old one was white. If I had been told about the frame alone I wouldn't have let them fit it. My old door had a slimmer frame made from aluminium that was much stronger as I've witnessed the same door withstand a kicking from 5 people for up to half and hour. The police made it before the door failed but these new doors aren't half as strong. When you've had a problem with drunks, druggies and thieves as well as a neighbour getting stabbed means theses cheaply made doors aren't up to the task. I no longer feel safe in my home and feel less safe leaving it empty due to fear of a break in. The fit and finish is just as bad with the spy hole not being attached right so it spins and rattles in the door. The cover plate on the door closing mechanism fell off after only a day as it wasn't even screwed just forced on, glass put in backwards and all in a shoddy product. Not only that the new window so small it lets in next to no light making my hallway look like a cave. The last two pictures were taken in the middle of the day and you can see how dark it is and the light leaking in on the frame that is meant to keep fire and smoke out. Grenfell tower hasn't even being knocked down yet but both companies and the council think this is acceptable. Everyone else in my building has refused to let Engie in to replace their doors after seeing mine. This company is a joke and I wouldn't even use their doors on a garden shed. I have reported this to trust pilot and my local paper as no one wants to put it right. EDIT. John Watson Doors didn't fit the door as that was Engie but they are responsible for how cheap and tacky the door looks as they made it and the over sized frame as they made that as well. I also have problems with the timber frame, not only is this more bulky than what I had before to point I wrap my knuckles each time I use my keys I also find it to be far weaker to the point it can be dented with a finger nail and is already splitting after only 6 weeks. A wooden frame is a bad idea and one I never would've allowed to be fitted had I known. Using such a dated building material in 2021 that is not only prone to damage but not as strong as what I had before making this new door a down grade. EDIT2 (26/05/2021) The wooden frame has twisted in the last couple of weeks meaning the self closing fire door no longer closes on it's own and bangs instead making it unfit as a fire door. The cladding only held on by luck and the splits are growing. Yet another reason why a wooden frame is a bad idea. EDIT3 (05/06/2021) Frame splitting badly as the split is clearly growing as shown in picture 13 before and after. Obvious flaw in the outdated wooden frame, meant to keep my home safe from break in's and fire, don't make me laugh. Never should've passed scrutiny in the first place. Not only was this company formed in the 1970's but is clearly still living there. I also believe a lot of the marks were done at the factory as they've being sprayed over.
